How to Apply for Reciprocity
Real estate salespersons who are actively licensed in all other states can begin the process of obtaining a Maryland real estate license by submitting a certificate of full licensing history from the state where they originally obtained their license and where they are currently licensed. Please send this history document (original only, not a copy) to us within 30 days of its issue date from your home state, along with a personally signed cover letter that includes your mailing address and complete contact information, including an email address. This should be directed to the Education Administrator at the Maryland Real Estate Commission, 1100 North Eutaw Street, Baltimore, MD 21201. Note that faxing or emailing this information is not permitted. If you qualify, you will receive all necessary information to register for the real estate license course; if you do not qualify, you will be notified accordingly. Each applicant's education and experience from their home state will be assessed for transferability on an individual basis. Waivers may only be granted to active licensees.

Additionally, you must pass the state portion of the licensing exam and obtain a Certificate of Licensure or Letter of Good Standing from your home state. Virginia
To become a licensed real estate salesperson, you must pass the state portion of the licensing exam and obtain a Letter of Good Standing from your home state.
